Shreveport-Bossier City Wins Nationals Bid
On behalf of the Board of Directors, the NCWA is delighted to announce that Shreveport-Bossier City, LA, has been selected as the host city for the 2024 National Collegiate Wrestling Championships. Spearheading this endeavor, President and Chairman of the Board, Jim Giunta, collaborated closely with Executive Directors Steve Davis and Kayla Giasson, in conjunction with Sara Nelms from the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission. Their combined efforts have culminated in a championship experience that promises to leave a lasting impression on all participants, well beyond the culmination of the event.
Scheduled to take place from March 14th through 16th, the Championships will kick off with registration, alongside the NCWA High School "Recruit-Me" Combine, which is set for March 13th. Preceding this, the nine qualifying Conference Tournaments are slated for the weekend of March 2nd, spanning across the entire expanse of the nation, including Puerto Rico.
The heart of the action will unfold at the Brookshire Arena, which will play host to both the combine and the demanding three-day competition. Adding to the prestige of the occasion, the distinguished Shreveport Hilton has been designated as the official host hotel for the 2024 event, ensuring unparalleled comfort and convenience for all attendees.
Shreveport boasts a top-tier airport located a mere 10 minutes away from the host hotel, offering seamless travel options for participants. For those seeking alternative flight arrangements, Dallas Love Field and DFW Airport present viable choices, each within a reasonable two-and-a-half-hour drive from the city of Shreveport.
The NCWA extends its gratitude to all those involved in bringing this remarkable event to fruition. Together, we look forward to an unforgettable championship that will leave an indelible mark on the athletes, coaches and fans in attendance.
