University of New Hampshire Wrestling Coach Wins District 22 Election

Coach, Official, Wrestler and Leader Henry Marsh was elected to the New Hampshire State Legislator this past Tuesday. Representing North Hampton, Republican Henry Marsh defeated Democrat Judith Day for the House seat by a vote of 1,675 to 1,260.

Marsh, who has Coached the UNH Wrestling program for the past 10 years is also the chairman of the Winnacunnet School Board. He replaces Michele Peckham, who opted against running for re-election this time around.

“I decided to run to represent and support the people of North Hampton and New Hampshire,” Marsh said.

Marsh said he looks forward to learning how the legislative process works in Concord. He considers himself a moderate conservative.

"I think my goal initially is to just learn how the system works," Marsh said. "Having been chairman of the Winnacunnet School Board and the joint SAU school board, I'm familiar with that process, and this will be a new learning experience."
