California State Northridge announces the addition of new wrestling program
The State of California and the NCWA’s West Coast Conference (WCC) welcomed it’s newest college wrestling program at Cal State Northridge. CSUN will be headed by Coach Evan Hess who was lured away from USC to build the Matadors new team.
The team will begin full practices this fall and begin competition in early November. Hess who has been at the Helm of the Trojans program for just two seasons saw the need to expand wrestling competition in California and jumped at the chance to add another wrestling program to the Southland area. His sorrow in leaving USC is only offset by the excitement of starting a program from the ground up in Northridge.
