NCWA Releases National Qualifying Bids
The NCWA has released its qualifying spots for the 2015 Championships. The list below represents the automatic bids per weight class available to each conference, plus the number of wildcard entries apportioned to each conference. The Mideast Conference has earned the most qualifying spots (77) with six automatic qualifiers per class plus 11 wild cards, which can be given to any wrestlers regardless of class. The Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Great Lakes and Southeast Conferences each have five automatic qualifiers per weight, with the MAC and NEC given an additional 11 wild cards and the GLC and SEC 10 wild cards each. The West Coast, Northwest and Great Plains Conference will each has three automatic entries, and the Southwest two.
NCWA’s Super Saturday of conference championships is Feb. 28, with host schools and sites across the country at Wayne, Neb. (Wayne State, Great Plains); Lynchburg, Va. (Liberty, Mid-Atlantic); Baltimore, Md. (Md.-Baltimore County, Mideast); Durham, N.H. (New Hampshire, Northeast); Pullman, Wash. (Washington State, Northwest); Orlando, Fla. (Central Florida, Southeast); Lewisville, Texas (North Texas, Southwest); and Phoenix, Ariz. (Glendale CC will host at Grand Canyon Univ., West Coast). Davenport University will host the Great Lakes Conference on March 1 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
