USC Wrestling Names New Head Coach

The University of Southern California is pleased to announce that Coach Jack Schwartz will be joining us as our official head coach. Coach Schwartz is, among other things, a California State place winner, 3rd in the Junior World Olympic trials, 2nd in the Pan American games, and a 3x Senior National Olympics champion.
Coach Schwartz has also started numerous wrestling programs across California. He also coached the 1981 South Hills High School team that won the CA state championship, scoring the second most points in the history of the tournament.
Joining him next semester will be assistant coach Wesley Fulkerson who is a USC alumni and another fantastic individual. He will certainly be an asset to those with high goals!
Coach Marty Lockwood, a 1976 Olympic alternate, will remain with the program as an assistant coach.
Next semester, the team plans to travel to Santa Barbara Wrestling for a dual meet. Plans to compete in the California Collegiate Open at San Francisco State University are in the works. The team will also compete in the NCWA conference championships in March. The season will culminate with the NCWA national championships in Allen, Texas!
