Grand Canyon Competes Well at Cliff Keen Invitational
Grand Canyon juniors Mike Hamel (149) and Peter Anguiano (285) reached the Friday late rounds of consolation matches before being eliminated in the 32nd annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
Some of the top Division I programs in the nation were among the 33 teams participating in the event, which will conclude Saturday. With no GCU wrestler advancing to the Saturday championship round, the Antelopes next match is a Dec. 13 dual at Embry-Riddle.
Hamel and Anguiano both lost in the first round Friday, but battled back with a pair of wins each to move on to the third round of consolations.
