Bull­dogs Edge out Penn Col­lege 30 – 24

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team lost a hard fought match to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology Sunday 30-24. The Wildcats were up 24-21 going into the last two bouts of the game before Stevens earned extra points with a pin in the 197 bout and then took the 285 match in a tight 5-4 decision. The loss drops the Wildcats to 6-3 overall.
Freshman Kyle Sunseri (Athens) was down 2-0 against Albert Helmig before taking the 141 match with a pin at 1:25. Freshman Derek Leiby (Troy) followed it up with a pin on Ahmad Goodley in the 149 bout at 3:34. Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) made it three in a row pinning Matthew Flick at 1:11 in the 157 class.
The match tied at 18 after the 165 bout when Blaine Blampied pinned freshman Austin Clark (Elysburg) at 7:37. The Wildcats took back the lead earning forfeit points at 174 making it 24-18.
Penn College next travels to Jamestown Community College for the Jamestown Open on Saturday, Jan. 28.
