Wild­cats Notch First Season Victory

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team started out conference play with a decisive 47-12 victory of Penn State Greater Allegheny. The Wildcats recorded three pins and a technical fall in their first win of the season. They now improve to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
After starting off down 12-0 with forfeits at the 125 and 133 classes, freshman Kyle Sunseri (Athens) pinned his opponent Jerrit Young in the 141 class at 3:49. Freshman Drew Zettle (Spring Mills) wasted no time in the 149 class pinning Soham Salvi in just 34 seconds.
In 157, freshman Derek Leiby (Troy, Pa.) dominated Tyler Spencer earning 15 points and recording a technical fall. Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) battled through a rough 165 match against Tyler McElhany and pinned him at 2:34. Freshman Paul Crutchlow (Morris Plains, N.J.) had the toughest match of the night with Matt Lago at 174 just edging him out with a 2-0 decision.
Freshmen Logan Gresock (Wadsworth, Ohio), Cameron Price (East Freedom) and Jasper Ocker (Burnham) each won by forfeit in the 184, 197 and 235 classes respectively.
Freshman Alex Myers (Horsham) closed out the match defeating Elis Andre with a 10-4 decision at 285.
Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State DuBois for a PSUAC match starting 6 p.m.
