USF Places 4th at FloriĀda Dual Meet Championship
Despite bringing only four wrestlers and therefore being the smallest team at the tournament, the University of South Florida found success! USF lost to the University of North Florida 24-22 in the first round (24 points were from forfeits), USF beat Florida State University 24-18 (18 points came off forfeits) in the second round, and USF lost to the University of Florida 23-14 in the 3rd place match where the last individual match, 235 lbs, was the first individual loss of the day for USF.
Ryan Hall went 3-0 and was the 133 Florida All-Star Alternate, Matt Dunton went 3-0 and was the 141 Florida All-Star Alternate and picked up a forfeit against the NAIA All-Stars at 149, Zach Morales went 3-0 and was the 157 Florida All-Star, and Carl Brent Stippert went 2-1, losing to returning All-American senior Mark Koski.
Next, USF will look forward to the Friday Night Duals and Seminole/Rattler Invitational at FSU on the weekend of February 4th.
