Mid-East Conference Championships Wrap-Up
Behind the strength of four champions, West Chester University, with 136 ½ points, took home the team crown at the Mid-East Conference Qualifier. Penn State-Du Bois placed second with 96 points, and the University of Delaware scored 64 points to place third. With three individual champions, USMAPS placed fourth, and rounding out the top five was Pennsylvania College of Technology.
At 165lbs., Dustin Tancredi stole the show, winning both the pinner award and the outstanding wrestler award. On the way to winning his weight class, Tancredi pinned his three opponents in a total of 2:07. Tancredi and the other Mid-East Conference Qualifiers will look to build off last weekend’s successes down at the NCWA Nationals. Also of note, Matt Park of Penn State-Du Bois, in his second year heading the second-year program, was voted as the conference coach of the year.
