The MMI wrestling team travelled to Grand Prairie, Texas this past weekend to participate in the 14th Annual Hilton Arlington Lone Star Duals. The tigers competed against two NCAA Division II schools (Ouachita Baptist and the University of Nebraska-Kearney), an NAIA school (Wayland Baptist) and NCWA foe Texas A&M. For the day Marion finished with two wins, one loss, and one tie. They defeated Wayland Baptist 42-7 (individual winners: Austin Souders, Michael Giorgio, Trevor Bailey, Josh McCoy, Jayce Crowder, Kevin Koch, Mark Howard, and Tyler DeMott) and Texas A&M 42-12 (individual winners: DeAnthony Smith, Austin Souders, Michael Giorgio, Trevor Bailey, Josh McCoy, Marvin Lawrence, Jayce Crowder, and Kevin Koch), lost to Nebraska-Kearney 6-37 (individual winner: Xenepher Austin), and tied Ouachita 25-25 (individual winners: Austin Souders, Michael Giorgio, Trevor Bailey, Josh McCoy, and Tyler DeMott).
MMI will travel to Prattville, Alabama this Friday (Jan. 21st) to compete in a Tri-Meet held at Prattville High School. Besides MMI, Auburn University and Darton College are scheduled to compete at the 5:30pm meet.
