Westerman and Bailey Hold Top Two Spots in NCWA 141-lb. Weight Class!
Sophomore Brandon Westerman and newcomer Trevor Bailey hold the top two positions in the 141-lb weight class in the latest National Collegiate Wrestling Association's (NCWA) rankings. Westerman, a native of Powder Springs, GA., was the Southeastern Conference Champion, NCWA National Runner-up and NCWA All-American last year for coaches Jim and Dave Hazewinkel. At McEachern High School he won four State Championships (2006-2009) while finishing with an impressive 192-12 record. Bailey, a native of Covington, Georgia, finished with a 156-22 record at Eastside High School and claimed the AAA State Title his senior year.
Other Marion wrestlers earning Top 10 rankings in their respective weight classes are: Austin Souders (7th in 133-lb wt. class), Josh McCoy (7th in 157-lb wt. class), Joel Wyman (7th in 235-lb wt. class), Michael Mullen (6th in 285-lb wt. class), and Tyler DeMott (8th in 285-lb wt. class).
