UW-Milwaukee Drops Rematch 36-10

DUNBAR -- UW-Milwaukee's wrestling team dropped a dual to Northland Baptist Bible College on Friday by a score of 36-10.
UW-Milwaukee's Tom Hansen (So, 141) dropped a 9-7 overtime decision to Steve Berg (Fr, 141) to kick off the dual. UW-Milwaukee then forfeited at 149 and at 157 before Omar Reynoso (Jr, 157) won by major decision over John Linton (Jr, 157), 12-3. The next match took place at 197, with Aaron Scott (Sr, 174) of NBBC facing UW-Milwaukee's Darin Kwilinski (Sr, 174). Scott won the hard-fought match 7-5. In the final match of the dual, Alex Hughes (Fr, 125) scored a first period pin at 125.
"It was a long trip up here, and it was made longer by the circumstance that we knew we were going to lose coming in because we were only bringing five wrestlers," said UW-Milwaukee head coach Koy Kosek. "The guys that came up here fought hard and we nearly came away with wins at 141 and 174. Those were both rematches, and we wrestled better against those two wrestlers than we did in December.
"The dual meet was really fun," continued Kosek. "I didn't know much about Northland coming into the season, but they've won my respect. They've got the beginnings of a pretty good program up there in the middle of nowhere. I hope they can keep it going."
