San Jose State Freshman Stevie Ratto from San Leandro high School wrestled in the first official NCWA collegiate style women's match, Thursday at Sacramento City College. Ratto a California High School State Champion and National placer went head to head at 148 pounds with Sophomore Amberle Montgomery from Solano College. Montgomery who competes for the Spartan Sombo & Wrestling club is Nationally ranked in Freestyle and has competed on several National and International teams and is a member of the U.S. National Sombo team. Montgomery won the match by tech fall in the second period.
This weekend the SJSU women's team will compete at the Mike Clock Invitational in Forest Grove Oregon and the Spartan Freestyle Club members will be in Canada for the Clansmen Invitational
