Florida College Dual Meet Championship
The Wrestling Club finished second in the State Dual Meet Championship held last weekend. The Wrestling Knights defeated FSU in their first dual by a score of 54-3. The next dual was against The University of Florida and the Knights picked up another win beating the Gators 38-7. Then the Knights took on the USF Bulls and won 51-3. With a daily record of 3 wins and 0 losses, the Knights wrestled Pensacola Christian College to determine which team would be the dual champions. The Knights wrestled hard, but were unable to continue their winning streak losing to Pensacola Christian College 19-23.
Top performers for the Knights are David Miller, Zach Sanford, and Mike Lemieux who all finished the tournament with four wins. Captain David Miller led the way by winning three of his matches by pins.
The Knights have continued to show improvement throughout the season despite the loss to Pensacola Christian College. This weekend the Knights will compete in UNC- Chapel Hill’s “Rumble on Hill” to close out the semester’s competition. This tournament will feature many of the top NCAA and NCWA programs of the Southeast.
