NCWA Men’s Division Preseason Rankings Released!
The 2019-2020 season starts this Saturday (11/2) and features a total of 56 returning All-Americans in the Men's Division including EIGHT Returning Champions and TEN individuals with National Championships under their belt. The team race looks to be Liberty's for the taking with mainstays Apprentice, Springfield Tech, Grand Valley State, and Central Florida not too far behind.
#1 Ranked Wrestlers include: 125 - Colton Messick (Sr-Apprentice), 133 - Kolin Johnson (Jr-Apprentice), 141 - Danny Buteau (Jr-Husson), 149 - Ty'rae Carter (Jr-Texas A&M), 157 - Andrew Burgette (Sr-Liberty), 165 - Mason Brestle (Sr-Maryland WC), 174 - Sam Karel (Sr-Liberty), 184 - Jabari Irons (Sr-Florida Gulf Coast), 197 - Austin Amos (Sr-Liberty), 235 - William Farparan (Sr-Tampa), and 285 - Jeff Allen (So-Liberty). There is also potential for finals rematches at several weights this year with the #1 and #2 at 141, 149 and 174 all returning to the mat.
The team race in Division 1 (top-10) is as follows: #1 Liberty (66), #2 Apprentice (45), #2 Springfield Tech (45), #4 Grand Valley State (38), #5 Central Florida (33), #6 Mott CC (31), #7 Toledo (24), #8 Grays Harbor (20), #9 Florida Gulf Coast (19), and #10 Schreiner (17). Division 2 (top-5) is led by #1 James Madison (17), #2 Husson (16), #2 Tampa (16), #4 Ohio State WC (14), and #5 Maryland WC (11).
