MIT Fin­ish­es Strong at North­east Conference National Qualifier

Keith won his first match of the day by a score of 13-2. Grad student, Jacob Adams went 3 and 1 on the day finishing in 2nd place at 149 pounds. Jacob had a pin, a technical fall and a regular decision on his way to the finals. In the finals, Jacob was finishing a front headlock and got stepped over and pinned. Senior, captain Frank Soucy finished the day with a 2 and 1 record placing 2nd at 184 pounds. He opened the day with a 16-0 technical fall. He followed it up with a 9 to 1 major decision over the number 2 seed. Frank lost in the finals to the number 1 seed, George Andrews from The University of Connecticut who is a two-time NCWA All-American. Frank wrestled very aggressive but fell short. Senior, Jonathon Brown finished in 4th place at heavyweight. He had to injury default to 4th. He will be ready to go in 2 weeks at the national tournament. Grad student, Brendon O’Neill competed at 165 pounds and wrestled hard but was unable to qualify for nationals. The 4 wrestlers will be heading to Allen, Texas on Wednesday, March 13th to compete at the NCWA National Tournament which starts on Thursday, March 14th and finishes on Saturday, March 16th.
