Achievements:Tim Alger began his first year in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 5th, 2009 at The United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School. He is the first civilian to coach the Huskies of Air Force Prep.Prior to coming to Colorado Springs, Alger spent ten years as the head coach at The United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. While at the Long Island service academy Alger was able to turn a losing culture into a winning one.In 2002 USMMA beat their rival, Coast Guard for the first time in over 35 years while also posting a 9-3 record. In 2006 The Academy had their first ever Division 3 All American in Danny Song. In 2007 the Mariners had the #1 ranked recruiting class in all of Division 3. In 2008, Alger's tenth and final season, the Mariners were nationally ranked all season long, blanked their rival 38-0, beat two Division 1 teams, beat the #9 & #14 team in D3, won their national qualifier putting six in the finals and advancing 4 to the National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Alger was named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year in 2008 as well as nominated for National Coach of the Year.
