Achievements:Bruce E. Kocsis Jr. has brought with him a long history of wrestling to his new position as head coach of the Penn State Mont Alto Wrestling Team. He also brings with him the discipline and wealth of knowledge that is necessary at this level of competition. Coach Kocsis’ main goals to start this new wrestling season are to have a very competitive year, and to spread the word that Mont Alto has a wrestling program through clinics, camps, and tournaments.

Coach Kocsis’ mission to develop his wrestlers is to teach his young athletes to be the best they can be through hard work and dedication on and off the mats. Coach Kocsis will also try to instill his philosophy into his wrestlers of “knowing where you are and knowing where you want to be. Once you know this then you can put things into place to make sure you achieve your ultimate goal.”

Kocsis attended Strongsville High School in Strongsville, OH, where he started his wrestling career. Upon graduation from high school in 1989 Kocsis then joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for 8 years, also wrestling competitively for the Marine Corps. He later attended and wrestled at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

Kocsis has been coaching wrestling for 15 years in a variety of places. He coached 3 different places in Missouri, including Fort Zumwalt West, Fort Zumwalt North, and Troy Buchanan High School. He later accepted the coaching position at Valparaiso High School in Indiana then later at Fairfield High School in Pennsylvania.
