Wildcats Sweep in PSUAC Quad Match

MONACA, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team went 3-0 at a Penn State University Athletic Conference quad match hosted by Penn State Beaver Saturday. The Wildcats defeated Penn State Fayette 28-15 followed by a 30-6 win over Penn State Beaver and 41-6 victory over Penn State Mont Alto. The win improves the team to 4-2 overall.

Against Fayette, freshman Kyle Sunseri (Athens) opened with a 12-8 decision over Mhye Brown. Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) had an 11-3 major decision over Jacob Durbin at 157 and freshman Paul Crutchlow (Morris Plains, N.J.) won by decision at 174 over Derek Brangard 8-1. Freshman Kevin Sutherland (Branford, Conn.) pinned Kenny Seliga in exhibition at 5:36.

In the second match against Beaver, freshman Austin Clark (Elysburg) pinned Dylan Winkle at 6:32 in the 165 bout. At 197, freshman Logan Gresock (Wadsworth, Ohio) pinned Matt Tabit at 1:26 and freshman Jasper Ocker (Burnham) won his 235 match pinning Wesley Mumert at 5:03. In exhibition, freshman Thomas Ayers (Alexandria) pinned Matt Tabit.

In the final match against Mont Alto, Sunseri pinned Robert Yonetta at 3:16 at 141 while Leiby followed at 149 with Michael Giulioni at 1:33. Myers defeated Derek Fitzpatrick at 165 with a 22-5 tech. fall and Clark pinned Rodney Weigle in just 22 seconds at 174. Gresock closed it out by pinning Rob Holland at 2:22 at the 197 class.

The Wildcats next host Penn State Mont Alto for a single match on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
