Huskymania Hits Connecticut, the Pack is Back
Storrs, CT - The 2010-11 University of Connecticut wrestling team has picked up right where they left off last season with successful competition in events in the Northeast Conference of the NCWA this past semester. With the loss of Co-Captains Mike Gorton and Pat Neilan due to graduation, the new leadership has guided the team in the right direction in order to seriously pursue the upcoming individual and dual meet titles. The Husky’s point leader for the fall semester is Jr. Luke Walsh (Farmington HS/Farmington, CT). A 1st place finish in the 165 lb. weight class at the Springfield Tech. The former Massachusetts HS State Champion, who finished 3rd at Springfield Tech., had led the team the whole semester and is now a close second. 3rd in points for the Huskies in points is freshman sensation Brian Richman (New Milford HS/New Milford, CT).
