New Haven Charges Forward

The University of New Haven Chargers started the season off with a quad meet at RPI against the host school RPI, United States Naval Academy, and UCONN on November 7th. Although, we gave up 18 points due to holes in the lineup, we gave forth a good effort. The following weekend, the Chargers went to SUNY/ALBANY to compete in the Veteran Day Duals along with the Titan Open. The chargers lost to SUNY/Cobleskill by 17 points. The chargers did show an excellent performance at the Titan Open. Placers at the Open were Freshman Chris Whiting (1st @ 125), Nate Maclure (5th @ 141), and Mike Molino (3rd @ 157).
This year the Chargers are captained by there three nationals qualifiers from last year in Mike Molino (157), Jake Edelman (174 qualifier), and Pete Molino (184 qualifier). The Chargers have one undefeated wrestler, Chris Whiting (125) who has already made a big name for himself by winning key victories to become a key member of the team. The chargers ended the semester off with a big win over former D1 program in Wagner College with the score of 28-20. Key victories were Nate Maclure (13-1 @ 141), Mike Molino with a: 30 pin, along with FFs at 133, 165, and 184.
The Chargers have an intense semester ahead of them with the Groundhog Tournament, CT State Championships, Northeast Conference Championships, along with the National Tournament.
