Air Force Prep Finish Third in SW Conference and Qualify Seven for Nationals

The Husky men traveled to LSU this past weekend to compete in the NCWA Southwest Conference Championships. The tournament consisted of over 100 wrestlers from 16 of the Southwest Conference Teams. The top four finishers in each weight class qualified for the NCWA National Championships 12-14 Mar in Virginia.

The Huskies had an excellent day of competition, finished in third place as a team, and qualified seven wrestlers for the National Championships. Team members at the competition included: C/Cs Logan Burch (4th Place), Ethan Martinez (2nd Place), Cole VonOhlen (1st Place), Dustin Potter (3rd Place), Chris Velez, David Salinas, Rafael Magana (4th Place), Tim Smell (1st Place), and Jared Erickson (2nd Place). Both Cole VonOhlen and Tim Smell won all of their matches by fall and Cole VonOhlen was selected as the tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler.
