UAlbany's Davis NE Champ at 184
For the first time in ten years UAlbany has a conference champion. Tierro Davis, two time Ohio high school state champ, took top honors at the 184lb weight class in the Northeast Conference Championship Tournament held at RPI in Troy, NY. Davis was seeded first in probably the toughest 184lb division in the NCWA and, by finishing first, should have ensured himself one of the top seeds at nationals. Two other top place finishers, Cormier(2nd) from UMass and Crifasi(3rd) from Northeastern, will also be looking for seeds at the national tournament. Three weeks earlier, Tierro placed second in the Doug Cherry Invitational ahead of two other 184lb winners from the Southeast and the Mid Atlantic Conferences. Crifasi finished third at that event beating both of the other conference champions in head to head matches.
