A First: Trophy at Bear Open

The East Georgia College Bobcat wrestling team won its first trophy ever on Saturday, November 4, at the Bear Open wrestling tournament, sponsored by the Mercer University Bears. The Bobcats took third place out of four teams, garnering 51 points behind tournament champion University of Georgia and second-place host Mercer University. Logan Brantley was the lone Bobcat to take first place with two falls at 133 pounds. Three Bobcats, Caleb Wickstrom, Kenneth Johnson, and Matt Young, took second; and Chris Wickstrom finished third. Hardworking Joe Jones also got his first college wrestling victory with a pin and placed fourth.
