Shames Wins 4th Ted Reese Invitational for MIT
The MIT wrestling team competed at the Ted Reese Invitational this past weekend. Senior, Sam Shames won the 133 pound weight class going 3 & 0 on the day with 3 pins. Sam is the first wrestler to win 4 Ted Reese Invitationals in the history of the tournament. Senior, Max Powers competed for the first time this season taking 3rd place at heavyweight. Max won 3 matches and his only loss was to the champion. Freshman Jose Velarde and Scott Strang got their first college wins. The team finished in 5th place overall.
